Canal Winchester is an historic community located approximately 15 miles Southeast of downtown Columbus, Ohio along U.S. Route 33 in Franklin and Fairfield Counties. Established in 1811, the Village has a rich history in agriculture, commerce and transportation. The Ohio and Erie Canal, completed through the community in 1831, identified Canal Winchester as a strategic location for the business of that era. Today, we are positioned within 10 minutes driving time of the interstate highways, the international airports and the big city amenities that fuel a dynamic Central Ohio economy. Canal Winchester is located on the southeast side of Columbus in Central Ohio with easy access to State Route 33 and Interstate Routes 70 and 270. Jefferson Farms began in 1988 and was developed in five phases. The last of the 198 large lots were completed in the Spring of 2005. Pear tree lined streets yield a warm neighborly welcome to visitors and homeowners. The Jefferson Farms Home Owners Association functions as a platform of maintaining the continuity of the original design of the community. The association consists of Trustees representing each phase that was developed and is divided into several sub-groups which are available to all homeowners to assist in whatever ways feasible to solve disputes discussed in the by-laws, supervise maintenance of the common areas, and plan social activities to join the neighbors.Bi-annually a directory is published and provided to all homeowners listing not only each homeowner within the community but also helpful information to assist new families. Annually there is a general JFHA meeting held to elect trustees and discuss the annual budget. Notification is done by posting signs at the entrances to Jefferson Farms.
